K

‘WHAT ARE WORDS?’

K is for KARMA {in Indian religions the concept of ‘action’ or ‘deed’ understood as that which causes the entire cycle of cause and effect}

KARMA, reaping what you sew. What goes around, comes around. Do unto others… The great ‘life IS fair’. I love this concept. Imagine a world where we all lived by a law that said we were paid back exactly what we gave. What would you give? Would it be your all? Would you give of yourself to a stranger? Would you make that stranger your friend? Would you be willing to take the ‘pay’ for your actions? Everyone wants good KARMA. Do you consider that you may also bring bad KARMA upon yourself? Just a little food for thought. Make it a feast.

  1. I do believe in karma to some extent, but unfortunately, there are still a lot of bad people reaping very good benefits... one can only hope they get theirs in the end.

  2. I remember a wilde childe friend of mine. She once told me, "Karma! Ha! That's just revenge without any of the fun." LOL. Sandra is like that. Lovely post, Roland

  3. Funny, someone suggested I write about Karma for K.. I didn't have much to say about it so wrote about kids instead. Definitely enjoyed your take :)

  6. I live my life according to Karma...and that's all we can do is to be accountable for our own actions. Good post.

  7. I find great solace in Karma--or call it whatever you like, but I do beleive what comes around goes around. My step-father who sexually abused me died after a debilitating stroke-Karma? you bet! great K word!

  8. Yep, as you know, NITRO, I am a big believer in karma. And as I've been known to say from time to time: Despite appearances, no one in the history of the world, has ever "gotten away" with ANYTHING.

    All of it, the good as well as the bad, comes back to you in time.

    But, to live by karma is to live "by the law". Karma is but a tool or device to guide us in our spiritual infancy - sort of like training wheels on a very small child's bicycle.

    But as we grow in our spiritual life, hopefully we will eventually learn to live without taking thought of karma. In other words, we learn to "live above the cause and effect law", doing what is right not because of any concept of reward or punishment, any hope for gain or aversion to pain, but simply because we have come to LOVE LIVING the way God created us to live.

    That's when karma (i.e., "earthly law") is no longer necessary because, like Jesus, we have reached a stage in our development where we can say, "I delight to do Your will, O God, and Your law is within my heart".

    And God's law (as opposed to the earthly law of karma) is only one 4-letter word: "Love!"

    I surely haven't reached that stage of development yet, but I'm convinced that before "this play" completes its run, all of us will have.

    Good "K" word, Nitro!

  9. I would love to believe in Karma, but, I just don't know...lol...maybe that's why I don't seem to get an abundance of the "good" variety!!

  10. Interesting concept, karma. The Bible says, 'Do unto others as you'd like them to do unto you.' Pretty much says it for me.

  11. I love the idea of karma too. I think a lot of people would act differently if everyone believed such a thing.
