I was all set to tell you just 'xactly how old I am today, and then I remembered this post at ABftSand I thought YIKES, I think I'll just be 29 AGAiN :-)
But consider these words: "...time is no part of eternity." and, "“Time-tables of birth and death are so many conspiracies against manhood and womanhood.” And: "Each succeeding year unfolds beauty, grandeur, and holiness."
Happy Birthday! And I, for one, definitely don't care about ages anymore. I still feel about 35 or 40 most of the time, so I just try not to look in the mirror too often! :) If you have a minute, please stop by my blog and see how it's mathematically impossible for me to be 35 or 40! :)
Wow! A lot of birthdays lately! Happy Birthday to you! People like you and I defy age. May you have many more wonderful birthdays ahead and never get any older.
Whoa! I missed this yesterday! Congratulations on making it from "I can't wait 'til I'm older" to "How the Hell did I get so old?!?! I musta fallen asleep and missed a decade in there someplace..."
Nah -- just kidding. As I've said before, it's all relative. On a cosmic scale we are but the briefest blink of an eye; to a redwood we are still wee babes; to a fruit-fly we've lived thousands of lifetimes.
Happy, happy, happy (slightly belated) birthday!!!! I hope you had an awesome day and that your year ahead is filled with joy, love, happiness, and many of God's wondrous blessings!!!!
Thank you all so much for all the kind wishes on my birthday. Turns out I had a really nice day. Do you all know that I share that birth date (month and day) with Abraham Lincoln? Probably not. Now that we have homogenized all of the holidays so everyone can have a three day weekend, who knows what we're celebrating anymore. Anyway...Ole Abe, not the really great guy everyone thought he was, eh?
Now, if anyone is even paying attention I'm gonna tell you something about myself. Birthdays and age really don't bother me much. I figure I've earned every year that I gain, and let me tell you some of 'em, I've earned the hard way. But, believe it or not I still do write. I don't yak on and on about it here, but I'm still cranking out some stuff, and working on edits, and hoping that some of it might actually see the light of day. When I began this blog, I started out thinking it would be a part of my 'writers platform', about now, I'm not even sure what that means, but from the start I decided I would not mention my age. I figure as a writer you're damned if you do, and OF COURSE, damned if you don't. If you decide to write something out of your particular age bracket you will either be told you're not old enough to fully understand that or what it might be like for someone at THAT stage of life, OR you might receive a harsh comment should you write YA or NA or whatever they call it now, when you're a decade or two beyond those years. I don't mind an honest critique of my writing and expression of emotion, agnst, or whatever you want to call it, for whatever age my characters might be, but I don't want to be judged by my age, or lack thereof.
You don't get pictures of me either, cause again I want the words to count, not the sexy/goofy/sincere or whatever avatar I would put up there.
Does any of that make sense to anyone other than me. No matter, cause at whatever age I might be,, or however I might look, I know that I am definitely WEIRD!
Hope you had a happy birthday today, and for the rest of the day too lol

Love it! Be careful not to fall off that writer's platform.
