BATTLE OF THE VANDS RESULTS

I'm going to make this post short and sweet. At least I hope it's sweet for some of you, for me not so much. To be honest I don't feel well. I've had a series of bits of 'bad news' lately, and physically I've been in a lot of pain. Nobody really wants to hear about that, but it is what's been keeping me from visiting your posts and getting this one up. I keep hoping things will tun around, but so far; no good.

Anyway... if I remember correctly more than one person predicted this BATTLE would be a blow out. It didn't exactly turn out that way, but one group did come out the winner at about 2 to 1. Many of you declared yourselves to be Crosby, Stills and Nash (this one was without Young) fans and thought sure you would vote that way, but after listening to the great harmonies and peppier sound of the Spanky and Our Gang version, you heartily 'jumped ship' and voted for the young lady from Chicago and her cohorts. Don't feel too bad; I'm joining you.

The final tally including my vote for Spanky is:

Spanky and Our Gang                        16 votes
Crosby, Stills, and Nash                      7 votes

The common consensus was that Crosby, Stills, and Nash sounded like they just finished off some wacky tabacy and a bottle of wine. Excuse me while I go an join them.

Hopefully, I'll be back on the 1st of August with another thrilling BATTLE for your enjoyment. Until that time or whenever; Happy Trails!

  2. So sorry you're not feeling well (I've been battling back pain when I sit, so I'm a little more brief that usual, too. In other words, I can relate!).

Nice upset! I was one of the CSN fans who went the other way. :-)

  3. A band that probably few of your voters knew of prior to the Battle clobbered a very famous group. That's pretty cool.

Of course Spanky and I go way back. I remember when her first baby tooth came in.

I hope you're feeling much better real soon, FAE. I'm not good company these days myself. This new job... if I'd had any real inkling of what I was getting myself into, it never would have happened.

  4. I don't know how I missed this! And I just looked at Stephen T's blog and I missed his, too! I swear the last time I checked, the older one was still the new one....Does that make sense?! Anyway, I'm stopping to comment mostly because you're going through some tough times and I just want to say, that I have, too....off and on, for quite a long time, actually. But, I just keep hanging in there, and looking ahead for better times. I'm still a big believer in following dreams, and especially at MY age, I can't be a-wastin' much time! I sincerely do hope things get better for you FAST!

  7. It was an interesting battle and it's always interesting and fun when you end up voting against a band you really like.
As for yourself, I hope things improve and start working out better for you. I've had my own share of bad news happen in the past few months. I have to admit, if it wasn't for my blogging, I don't know what I'd do to keep my mind off of the problems.
    Time for a beer. Well, it's 5:00 o'clock somewhere.

  10. I hope you feel better soon. You're in my prayers. And hey, always good to be on the winning team, even if that team's name is "Spanky." :)

As for me... I seem to be voting for the underdog pretty consistently. :)

  12. What you're saying is completely true. I know that everybody must say the same thing, but I just think that you put it in a way that everyone can understand. I'm sure you'll reach so many people with what you've got to say.
