Today I’m offering these words of
encouragement from the man himself, Mark Twain.
Here are a few more sung by another ‘man’.
To dream the
impossible dream
To
fight the unbeatable foe
To
bear unbearable sorrow
To
run where the brave dare not go
To
right the unrightable wrong
To
love pure and chaste from afar
To
try when your arms are too weary
To
reach the unreachable star
The
Man of La Mancha
“The
Impossible Dream’
Isn’t that what this quest we call ‘writing’
is all about – dreaming the impossible dream? I know how important validation
is, and everyone desires publication and phenomenal sales, but at the end of
the day - all you really have are your stories. Write good, really good ones,
and if you only save them to tell to your grandchildren; be happy that you have
passed a bit of yourself onto someone else.
This is my contribution to the Insecure
Writers Support Group today. If one person finds some encouragement and hope in
them, my job is done.

Your job is done!! Love Man of La Mancha; it has always been one of my favorites. Hope you are feeling better FAE and your health is restored!
ReplyDeleteWell said. And we better be happy with those stories we wrote.
ReplyDeleteWonderful post! Some of my favorite quotes, too!! Thank you for reminding us all what it's all about.....Alfie..(sorry I couldn't help myself!)
ReplyDeleteAnd I definitely want to encourage you. I've read some of your writing, remember? And it was very good!! Have a great rest of the week.
Very true, better to be happy with them indeed. But happy with a million bucks would be better still lol
ReplyDelete"...be happy that you have passed a bit of yourself onto someone else."
ReplyDeleteWhat a great thought!!! I so needed this today.
Thank you!
Very encouraging and inspirational. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteCatch the trade winds, hmmmmm? And the Picasso picture of Don Quixote is a favorite. We should all try to tilt at a few windmills.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for reminding me.
ReplyDelete(singing loudly)
ReplyDeleteThis is my quest
To follow that star
No matter how hopeless
No matter how far
Just be glad you can't hear me....talk about disappointment!

Very Inspiring. Impossible dreams are only impossible if you do nothing to try to achieve them. Here is to writing, and the impossible dream. Cheers.
