INSECURE WRITERS SUPPORT GROUP - NEW ATTITUDE

It’s that time of the month again, first Wednesday of the month. Insecure Writer’s Support Group or IWSG or, if you’re me ISWG (did I ever mention that I’m slightly dyslexic). Anyway…this month, I’m with Patti…

Maybe this has something to do with it.

Yeah, that’s my new writing space, in the new house. What a difference a month makes.

Space is important. The space you write in. The space in your head. The space you give your writing. The space you give yourself.

Sometimes a little space away from your work is a really good thing. Take time to give yourself space. Step back, take a different perspective. Whatever you’re doing it should be fun, when it turns into ‘work’ it might be time for a different space altogether.

Always, always, always be good to yourself. Your writing will improve if you are and so will you.

If it makes you feel any better, today in the tropics, the rain is coming down in sheets. Now, go on over and click on the IWSG Badge and visit some other spaces and see what advice they have for you.

  2. I agree about needing space and that we deserve it.

  3. I'm glad I'm not the only one who often types IWSG as ISWG. :)

And that is so true about space. Sometimes you need it to figure out how to keep writing.

  6. WOW on your space and view. I live next to a busy interstate, so can appreciate the traffic noise being replaced by crashing waves, the smells of fuel replaced with salt water air. : ) The traffic replaced by miles and miles of nothingness. Very nice and I am back to reality now.

  7. I've got piles of snow greeting me today, but ya, I don't care, cuz I'm inside! Haha.

  9. Wow! Lovely view.

I'm glad you've got yourself sorted with a new writing space in a new house - and that you've got plenty of attitude!

  10. Oh, what a gorgeous view! One day, I'll have my own office with a view. Right now, I look at a wall, but I put some of my son's artwork on it and that makes me smile.

  12. I was writing IWGS all morning...

Love the view from your writing room. I hope it brings you lots of happy writing time.

  13. Oh ... wow. Look at that view.
That truly beats what I have to look at while I write. I feel deprived.

  14. You've a wonderful attitude and a wonderful writing space. Thanks for the encouragement. With or without a view of the ocean, we can and should make our writing space happy and peaceful.

  16. I always forget to be good to myself and always feel like time away from my writing is time wasted. But funnily enough, whenever I go back to writing after time off, I feel so much better for it.

  17. I live in Hawaii, but *that's* a view:)

Thanks for the kind comments and I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't write IWGS :)

  18. It's time I kick my room with a view into gear! My brain has been feeling muddled with lingering illness. And *that* feels crappy.

TODAY, your small push to give me some space is just what I needed. Storm clouds are hovering in the air here. I could use those tropical sheets of rain to clean out the cobwebs in my brain. But, I'll settle for the cool breeze drifting through my window to stir up some good writing.

Your view is stunning. Thank you for sharing its awesomeness!

  19. If I had a view like that I'd never get anything written! *sigh*
