While I was off being sick one of my new
followers Lily Tequila awarded me The Versatile Blogger Award. Now most of you
know that when it comes to these blog awards I’m a real curmudgeon and I
generally don’t pick them up. I’m trying to change my ways and be more gracious
– please don’t start awarding me all kinds of awards, because I said that, BUT
I promised Lily that I would take this one.
Let me tell you how Wiktonary defines
versatile;
1.
capable of doing many things completely
2.
having varied uses of many functions
3.
changeable or inconstant
4.
capable of moving freely in all directions (in biology)
Alright then…
First go check Lily out at www.lilytequila.blogspot.com
She has a rather eclectic blog herself
that certainly qualifies as versatile.
Here are the rules:
1.
Add award to your blog
2.
Thank the blogger who gave it to you
3.
Mention 7 random things about yourself
4.
List the rules
5.
Award to 15 bloggers
6.
Inform each of those 15 by leaving a comment on their blog.
1. Hopefully that Blog Award has been
added, but then you guys know me and the technology it takes to do that.
2. Thank you Lily – may I live up to your
expectations.
3. CRINGE
1. I’m dyslexic. Probably not the
way you think. There are many different kinds of dyslexia. Let’s just say, if
you have or ever will read something of mine that sounds like English is my
second language, which it is not, that would be my form of dyslexia shining
through.
2. I’m a licensed Disc Jockey of
the radio kind not the dance/party kind. Although I haven’t worked in this
field for quite some time the licensing is for life.
3. I was a certified white water
guide. Certification NOT for life and I haven’t done that in a long time
either, but when I did it was exhilarating.
4. Although, I will talk to
anyone at just about any time all the tests say I’m an INTROVERT. When I read
their explanations I have to agree.
5. I don’t know my left from my
right.
6. I believe God, Jesus Christ
and even after everything, I believe in love.
7. I was a lifeguard and an assistant swim
coach.
The rules are listed above.
I would like to award this to my 15
newest followers. I don’t know you well enough to know if you are truly
versatile or not, but the 7 random facts will help everyone get to know you a
little bit better. I’ll be in touch, via your comment box.
To the rest of you – go on over to my
little icons of followers and click on their pictures and checkout what they
have to say about themselves.
Do you swim a lot where you live? I'd think that swimming would be an important skill. But I guess an island only looks like an island if you are gazing at it from the water.
ReplyDeleteCertainly the connection between #3 and #7 is apparent.
ReplyDeleteNumbers 2 and 4 would seem to represent a contradiction, except that being an introvert myself but also having done some acting, I know that 2 and 4 are not always the contradiction they would generally appear to be.
And I'm with you on #6... with the first two anyway. Love? Well, it depends on which type we're referring to. The "boy and girl romance" variety... eh, not so much. But occasionally.
Nice to see you come out of your shell here a little bit, Turtle-- er, I meant "Nitro".

Amen on number six! With that not only comes love but a peace found no where else on earth.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the award. Wouldn't recommend trying to go in all directions at once though.
Thanks so much for the award!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'll have time to do a post, but I'll give you seven fact now.
1) I have no middle name.
2) I once studied barkeeping while I didn't even drink.
3) I fenced at university and want to fence again.
4) I love to write.
5) I'm terrified of drowning.
6) I'm currently learning how to play guitar.
7) I'm turning 24 in December.
:-)
Congrats on the award. It was nice learning more about you.
ReplyDeleteAt my first wedding, I held out the wrong hand and put the ring on his wrong hand too. I focused a little harder at my second wedding. :) Congrats on the award. Awesome that you write despite the dyslexia.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the award! I really appreciate it! I'll post my response tomorrow! :D
ReplyDeleteI am an introvert too!! Thanks for passing along the award :)
ReplyDeleteAndrea
Congrats on your award. I've always had a problem with left and right, too. Thanks for honoring me with the award.
ReplyDeleteI think I have a few of these "awards" that were given to me at some point. I don't even bother with them anymore.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your award! I have two lefts and I'll just keep telling myself that.
ReplyDeleteI can't tell left from right either, other than the scar on my pinky finger, oh and the rings I wear to help me remember. Wedding ring left, family ring right. I think this is a skill you have to master by the age of 2, or you're doomed for life. =) Thanks for the award!
ReplyDeleteFIFTEEEENNN??? I have a hard enough time with five!
ReplyDeleteI remember left to right because we read left to right. If it's not linguistic, it's a lost cause.

Always interesting to learn more about the other bloggers. I with you on a couple of these. I didn't learn to swim until I was in college and took swimming as a PE class. Now in a pinch I could probably keep my head above water for a while, but I'd probably need a lifeguard. I avoid situations where I might have to swim.

Thanks for the awards notice. Sorry I'm late picking it up. I'll try to acknowledge it on my blog next week. :)
