I Survived

Just in case you’ve been wondering where I’ve been, I’ve been in the process of moving. And I survived. I promised pictures of the new place, but currently it looks like my life exploded inside this place, maybe later in the week.

What I’m wondering is how did I accumulate so much junk. I moved to the Caribbean two years ago with two large suitcases, one carry-on, my laptop and a clock radio. The move took between five to seven car loads. The new landlord even came by to pick up a chair and ottoman that I couldn’t fit in the car.

I have decided the next move will be to a boat, that way all the junk cannot come along.

Here are two pictures.

This one is of the ceiling in my bedroom. I thought it looked cool.

This one is of the 'huge' French Doors into the dining room from the deck. I took it from the pool. Yes, I have a pool. It's the Caribbean!

  1. Glad you survived...and LOL! I know! Where DOES all the stuff come from? Hope you broke out a bottle of champagne or a bottle of beer, or a shot of tequila or rum. If not, *cheers* to you for all your hard work. And I don't know about you, but I love to say, "I live in the Caribbean."

  2. Glad you got through the move! I have no idea how the junk collects. Think it breeds like rabbits.

  3. Beautiful! Glad you survived and can now get settled in. It truly is amazing how quickly we can accumulate stuff!

  4. Very happy to hear you survived! For me, finding and turning on the coffee pot, is the #1 key to survive a move. LOL

Oh, and I hope you take some time to enjoy the pool at your new place!

Yeah, that ceiling really does look cool. At least if you're going to lie awake nights you'll have something interesting to stare at - it beats staring at a "popcorn" ceiling and watching it play tricks on the eyes.

  8. I totally understand that you don't want to show us the "just-moved-in" state of your place -- but the high ceiling and patio doors were a lovely compromise!

  9. Moving house is traumatic... at least the worse is over and you can look forward to settling in...
    Enjoy!

  10. Moving is a pain! My family packed the largest rig the movers had. But I've got three kids and their furniture.

Okay, you live in paradise. I wanna visit!
